Made in Scandinavia

  • Galleri TEMP Bergen Norway (map)

The exhibition Made in Skandinavia discussed the dividing lines between the fine arts and the crafts from a craft makers perspective. Introducing a whole range of different works made of metal, textiles, glass and Ceramics by newly established designers from Denmark, Sweeden, Finland and Norway. The exhibition was curated by Gallery Temp as part of Hordaland arts centre Bergart program in 2002.

Temp used a former shop venue at Klosteret for the exhibition. Heidi Bjørgan was the curator.

For Made in Skandinavia a selection of works were shown as the new crafts design that came out of the Scandinavian art colleges at the time. The craft scene in 2002 laid great emphasis on the humoristic, playful and conceptual in the approach to design and crafts, often in combination with ways to present the works taken from the fine arts.
